Long time no post

Hello Xanga peeps!

Quite a few things have happened since I last posted over 6 months ago, but two of the biggest were the completion of my master's degree (woohoo!) and my celebratory vacation to Europe.  I now have a Flickr account and I've posted a slew of pictures, not just from vacations, but also from school, work, FUMC, BC, and other stuff.  So feel free to check them out if you're interested.  If you have a Flickr account you can even leave comments.  You can go directly to one of the pictures sets from the links below, or just browse my whole site.

Happy Fun Time

Here are some pics of some of my friends from The Way, my Sunday School class.  This weekend we went to a drive-in movie, and last weekend we went to a Drillers game.  Good times!

Memorial Day Weekend

Ah, Memorial Day.  It's the day when most of us take a day off of work and/or school to celebrate 3-day weekends, sales, and cookouts.  But today, after a particularly poignant prayer by my new spiritual mentor Aaron Cobb, I've decided that tomorrow I will spend, at the very least, the better portion of 5 minutes in prayer for our troops.

Like no other time in my personal history, I have friends who are currently serving overseas or have served overseas in the last few years, one who was KIA in Iraq, and even one of my all-time best friends is currently preparing for boot camp.  So I thought it would be a good time to pray for all of these friends and their family members, and also for those who are currently serving our great country in places all over the world.  Thank you for all you do for us!

The rest of my weekend has been spent in more selfish pursuits.  Yesterday I remodeled one of my closets (yes, just the closet) and tomorrow I will be mending fences, literally.  I love 3-day weekends.

Seussical the Musical

I got a chance to try out my new lens in low light at a play starring my uber-talented step-siblings, Zach and Lara.

The pics are decent until you realize that I was sitting about 150 feet away.  Then they are really good!  If you don't believe me, just ask me.

Fun times.

Some pictures from my weekend:

Accepting an award for our Sunday School class.  Yes those are hiking shoes.  Does everything have to make sense?

The 2007 Wish Lemons Run - Oh yeah, I beat this guy.  I beat this guy by 46 minutes.

Candy bars - an apt reward for invigorating cardiovascular exercise.

We kicked butt on the fun run
